We are Building the Next 50 Years of Zambia
Welcome to A Family Mission – the journey into intentional living with a purpose of transforming Zambia one orphan at a time.
We are Kent, Renay and Hannah Smith! The people behind afamilymission.com. This site is our story as God has transformed us through our involvement with the forgotten orphans of Zambia. He continues to work in us, through us and around us to open our eyes and fill our hearts with the desires of His for the lost, the lonely and the least.
Our transformation story started about 2010 when Hannah expressed her calling to go to Africa to work with orphans. It took about four years with several twists and turns that we describe in the blog to get us here. In the summer of 2014, we found ourselves in Lusaka, Zambia with Family Legacy Missions International. We were participating in our first ever international mission and first as a family outside of our hometown.
God is moving in our family. God is moving in the families around us. God is moving in the world of the lost and the forgotten.
You can be a part of the movement and you WILL be blessed. I do not know how and when but the blessings will be magnificent and beyond expectations. The transformation of your heart as you get a heart for the orphan as God does will surprise you and the scales will be peeled from your eyes to see what you did not know was there.
We had no idea how we would be changed! Changed forever, not just for a few days. We are hooked and hope that we will hook you too!
We are the crazy orphan people!
You can be a part of building an eternal legacy along with us. We are not asking for anything more than your prayers that God’s will be done through us in the beautiful, forgotten orphan children in Zambia.
Religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father, is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world.
This is the life verse we are trying to abide by as we move forward in our journey with these children and our support of the efforts of Family Legacy. Learn more about Family Legacy…click here to go to their site.
